I've been a Meccano © builder, collector and enthusiast since I was a kid in my native country of Italy.
With the exposure to my family business (heavy equipment) and a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, I never strayed away from my mechanical fascination with gears, levers and motors .
About thirty-five years ago, I picked up the hobby again in a serious way.
I was more mature then and approached the modeling and prototyping in a serious way.
I became interested to the various international associations of Meccano © enthusiasts, started to cooperate with our Italian construction club “GAMM” and became member of the ISM, the Canadian Modeling Association for Meccano and other similar groups.
I visited Geoff Wright in Henley on Thames a few times and been in touch with quite a few enthusiasts in Italy, UK, Argentina, Brazil, France, the US and Israel.
I also have the Meccano Model Plan 176 booklet to my name (PENSOTTI-NICHOLLS-COMPACT CLOCK). I frequently visited Buenos Aires for business and became friend with likeminded hobbyist and licensee (Exacto). During this period, I have amassed a large collection of Sets, Parts, Books and Publications related to Meccano ©.
I’m now 86-year-old, live in Texas and my kids and grandkids have shown no interest in this hobby.
I need to scale down my lifestyle, so it’s with great regrets that I decided to put up my inventory for sale.
I have properly inventoried, photographed and described all my collection and created this GoDaddy web page where you can see all my stuff in great detail.
If you have any interest in acquiring the collection or part of it, please drop me a message at: ro@xymbion.com
